Disco's Revenge! After a couple decades of disco-bashing, it turns out that one disco song is saving lives! Experts say the Bee Gees' hit "Stayin' Alive is the perfect tempo for doing CPR.
At 103 beats per minute, the song nearly matches the recommended speed of 100 compressions per minute while performing CPR. And the title doesn't hurt either! Glad it wasn't "Tragedy."
So, just remember: If someone needs CPR, waste no time, and as fast as you can, tune your radio to us, then call the deejay and request that song! We'll put it on "the list" then submit it to our program director who will add it to our next "auditorium test" and possibly add it to our music list early next spring, or maybey put it in one of those "Top 500" countdown shows on New Year's Day. We're saving lives here. You're welcome.
