Hanover Squares Game Show

The game will feature nine local celebrities and comedians positioned in the upper floor windows of the Koolakian & Manro Menswear building in Hanover Square. The game host is Bruno Schirripa, best known as the owner of Wise Guys Comedy Club. Teams of contestants will compete in seven games until one winner prevails. Eight teams of up to five people have been selected to play. The game format is similar to tic-tac-toe, beginning with a trivia question from the host. The contestant team selects a celebrity in the window to answer the question. The contestant has the option to agree or disagree with the answer to win the X or the O. Many of the answers are intentionally bluffed. The event is produced by the Downtown Committee of Syracuse, Wise Guys Comedy Club, and the Hanover Square Association, with funding from a grant through Senator John A. DeFrancisco

Too often the lives of those we love are abruptly interrupted and needlessly cut short because of cancer. This was the case with my father, Harry W. Thomas; cancer claimed his life on February 10, 2006, at the young age of 52. In honor of my father’s life I have put together a benefit that will provide knowledge and education about cancer to the community. This benefit will assist us in raising funds, which will support Dunbar Associations Cook Off for the Cure Cancer Screenings. The intention is that while bringing awareness to the seriousness of losing a family member to cancer. While highlighting effect it has on families and the community. The Jam Session will also provide an outlet for spoken word and local fashion artist.
