Sunday, September 5th We've had so much fun seeing everyone come to the iheartradio booth and tell us what they heart!
Thursday, September 2nd Could it get any hotter?!? A couple of 90 degree days in a row does make for an uncomfortable trip to the Fair, but there are some "cool" indoor things that you can do. First, if you haven't seen it yet and you are a fan of music at all you need to see the Sand Sculpture in the Center of Progress Building. It features the greatest rock and roll band of all time: The Beatles. Also in the Center of Progress Building, you can check out 570 WSYR's The Jim Reith Show live today from 3 to 7pm.
If you move over to the Dairy Building you can get a lot of goodies and tasty treats to eat including the Hot Beef Sundae. Also the Butter Sculpture is in the Dairy Building and features a New York State farm.
Now, if you move over to the International Building this is where it gets AWESOME. There is a wine bar and a brew pub both inside the international building this year!! So for all the adults out there... I'll see YOU at the international building!
Wednesday, September 1st Holy cow there were a lot of people at the NYS Fair yesterday!
Lady Antebellum's free show at Chevy Court and Justin Bieber's sold out rescheduled Grandstand show brought a record 97,254 people to the Fair Wednesday - 37,806 more than the same Wednesday in 2009. That picture above? Chevy Court three hours BEFORE Lady Antebellum took the stage.
Tuesday, August 31st Tuesday is Beef Day at the NYS Fair! WSYR's Jim Reith and B104.7's Tom & Becky participated in the Beef Cookoff. Yum!
Monday, August 30th Well, the first full week of the fair starts today. A "minor" change this week: Justin Bieber will now join us Wednesday night at 7pm on the Grandstand... he cancelled Sunday's show due to illness, but doctors have cleared him and he's OK to go WHICH MEANS between the Lady Antebellum show and Bieber the fair is expecting record crowds.
Today I am focusing on food. It's the one thing that is constant here in more then one way. If it's the fresh baked goods in the dairy building or the giant turkey legs, there is something for everyone! One of the new sensations in the Roast Beef Sundae, featured in today's video blog. So sit back and enjoy the culinary magic the the fair has to offer!

Attendance at the Fair Sunday, Aug. 29: 78,972 (down 15,156 from 2009. Record for the day: 105,894 in 2002.)
Attendance at the Fair Saturday, Aug. 28: 115,324 (up 29,690 from 2009 and a new record for the day. Previous record: 94,959 in 2003.)
Attendance at the Fair Friday, Aug. 27: 91,461 (up 6,971 from 2009. Record for the day: 92,782 in 2001.)
Attendance at the Fair Thursday, Aug. 26: 60,815 (down 6,437 from 2009. Record for the day: 74,385 in 2000.)
Sunday, August 29th Bieber's got Fever! Tonight's sold-out Justin Bieber concert has been postponed due to illness and rescheduled for Wednesday night on the Grandstand at 7pm. Justin himself tweeted "Been super sick lately but u guys are carrying me. thank u for the love."
The Fair says it will still honor all tickets issued for Sunday's show for the new date on Wednesday, Sept. 1 - however, if you cannot use the ticket, you may return it for a refund prior to Wednesday’s show.
Saturday, August 28th What's new at the Fair this year? Lots! Some brand new entertainment this year includes the Dueling Pirates High Dive Show, The Ejection Seat, Wild About Monkeys, the Wild World of Animals, and the Extreme Canine Stunt Show:
Also new this year are Eurobubbles, which let kids literally walk on water inside a giant bubble:
Thursday, August 26th Another opening day at the fair!! How great it is. What a great line up of entertainment the fair has in store for all of us music heads out there.
Starting off tonight with one of my top 5 favorite bands of all time Aerosmith. Isn't it great that we here in Central New York can see a hall of fame legend like Aerosmith right in our back yard... Also don't forget to check out all of the local entertainment that is offered in different locations around the fair. Alright.. Don't forget to come back early and often to this blog. Monday, August 23rd Well ... It's that time of year again. Sausage sandwiches, roast beef Sundays, milk, concerts and overall 12 days of ridiculous fun. That's right, the big show, the Great New York State Fair. I will be there every day giving you my perspective on all of the fun activities including entertainment, food, animals and the overall sights and sounds of the fair.
The catch. You get it all from the lens of my iPhone 4. How cool is that? I'm even submitting this blog from my phone.
Also... Look for me at the Fair because I'm going to show you how cool your phone will be with an app called iheartradio. It doesn't matter if you have an iPhone, Droid or Blackberry - I will make you the envy of your music loving friends. So hold on. Get ready, because there is no place like the Great New York State Fair.
